- Abstract ( ) PDF (3121KB) ( )
- This paper outlined the construction and work for the main parts of the supercooled cloud tunnel after improvement, and discussed the results of measurement and analyses from experiment. Due to extending the period of free suspension of ice crystals, the rime, dense rime, likegraupel and graupel were simulated in laboratory artificially. The riming growth thresholds of various types of ice crystals were investigated preliminarily. The relations between the 2 a-axial, c-axial, fall velocity as well as the rate of mass growth of rime and temperature for different growth periods t, were analysesed.
- QUALITATIVE ANALYSES ABOUT INFLUENCES OF THE LARGE SCALE CIRCULATIVE SYSTEM AND LARGE TOPOGRAPHY ON PRODUCING AND DEVELOPING MECHANISM OF SUB-SYNOPTICAL SCALE SYSTEM
- Li Weijing
- 1985 Vol. 4 (4): 303-317.

- In this paper, the equations describing sub-synoptical scale systems in the σ coordinates are derived. The vorticity equation and thermodynamic energy equation are applied to the different levels of the two layers model.Accor ding to some characteristics of the sub-synoptical scale system, the equations are linearized, solved and discussed. We the obtain some qualitative results of the large scale circulative system and large topography producing, developing and moving effect on the sub-synoptical system.Using those results, a favorable situation that produces low vortex as well as sub-synoptical systems in east of the Tibetan Plateau is discussed.
- AN ANALYSIS OF WAVE NUMBER SPECTRA OF ENERGY FOR THE ONSET OF THE SUMMER MONSOON IN 1979
- Chen Biao
- 1985 Vol. 4 (4): 318-327.
- Abstract ( ) PDF (647KB) ( )
- In this paper, the wave number spectra of energy have been analysed for ultra-longwave in middle-low latitude of the northern hemisphere by using FGGE data June 10-24, 1979.This study deals with subjects concerning the energy characteristics and the evolution of the blocking high and south Asia high over the northern hemisphere during the onset of southwest monsoon.
- CALCULATION ON STOKES MATRICES OF BACKSCATTERING BY SMALL SPHEROIDAL RAINDROPS
- Cai Qiming;Ye Zongxiu
- 1985 Vol. 4 (4): 328-338.
- Abstract ( ) PDF (639KB) ( )
- The major factor which produces the depolarization of radar scattering signals is the non-spherical properties of hydrometeors. The shape of falling raindrops can be approximately treated as spheroids. The expressions on scattering STOKES matrices of small spheroids have been derived systematically in this paper, and the physical implications of the matrix elements were analysed. The results indicate that various polarized scatteri ng may be identically described by this method.
- A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE MIDDLE PATTERN OF THE SOUTH ASIAN HIGH AND THE DISTRIBUTION OF RAIN BELT IN CHINA
- Yu Heshu;Chao Shuyi
- 1985 Vol. 4 (4): 339-346.
- Abstract ( ) PDF (517KB) ( )
- Based on the 100mb data of June-August from 1981 to 1984,the an aly-sis indicates that the South Asian High with center located in 95°-105°E(mi-ddle pattern) is an important circulation system in the Plateau Atmosphere. The distributive characteristic of the main rain belts in China under the control of this pattern is different from that of west pattern and east pattern.
